Better coverage and stronger pricing — built for contractors.
I’m Drew Baker with C3 Risk & Insurance Services. Because I focus on a narrow set of trades, I build programs with broader coverage and sharper pricing than a generalist can — through specialty carriers most brokers can’t reach.
Carriers push auto-rate increases every year — and they will if you let them. Beating that comes down to two things: knowing which carriers to leverage when we quote, and getting the right risk-management “checks” in place to trigger the credits our underwriters can offer.
Question 02
What do you do when my Experience Modification Rate (X-Mod) is over 100?
Whether it’s over 100 or over 200, the process is the same. We schedule a call to go through your current loss runs and identify trends, then bring in our in-house risk-management team to build processes that prevent future claims — while setting up recurring reviews of existing claims to keep costs down. We’ll get your mod down over time.
Question 03
What are the biggest claims you’ve seen for contractors lately?
Construction defect, by far. It’s critical to carry the right policies every year — a claim can surface from work you finished a decade ago.
Question 04
What’s the most likely claim to happen for a contractor?
Auto and EPLI (Employment Practices Liability). For EPLI here in CA it’s usually discrimination or wage-and-hour claims — and we have the best markets to help you shop these.
About Drew
Sixteen years, one focused approach
Drew Baker
Commercial Insurance Broker, C3
Commercial insurance broker with more than 16 years of experience. By concentrating on a focused set of industries, I structure programs with broader coverage and stronger pricing than a generalist approach typically allows.
Much of that advantage comes from access to specialty and niche carriers outside the standard market — carriers many brokers cannot reach — which translates into more competitive terms and coverage aligned with your real-world exposures.

What working with me looks like
Three steps, zero pressure
1
A 30-minute call
We get to know each other and review your current program. If it’s already strong, I’ll tell you on that call — I’m not here to waste your time or mine.
2
Quoting
I go to specialty programs other brokers don’t have — and I work 100% around your current broker. I won’t block any of their markets. To quote it right, I’ll need:
ALoss history — the last 5 years.
BYour current policies — I can’t build a proper quote without reviewing your actual coverages.
3
The proposal
I present the quote side-by-side against your current coverage. Because I focus on such a narrow niche, my markets are strong — and I’m often the more competitive option.
